Final Evaluation Information and Registration Deadline

CVLL Families

 

Our 2nd and FINAL Player Evaluation will be taking place this Saturday January 20th at Proctor Field.  This is also the final day to register for our Minor, Majors, and Intermediate divisions.  Registration for those divisions will be closed as teams will be formed immediately after evaluations.  

 

The MANDATORY evaluations are for every player league age 8-13 including players that league age 7 and wish to try out for the Minor Division.

When: Sat Jan 20 RAIN OR SHINE

Times:  See below (Please arrive during your age group so the appropiate Managers can evaluate your player.)

Where: Proctor Field

Check In: Please check in 15 minutes prior to start time.

Registration: Open for registration and to validate required paperwork.

NOTE: The snack bar will be open serving hot foods like hot dogs, french fries, and nachos along with numerous snacks and drinks.

 

Age - Time

13 year olds - 9 am

12 year olds - 9:30 am

11 year olds   - 10 am

10 year olds Last Name A-K- 11 am

10 year olds Last Name L-Z - 11:45 am

9 year olds-  last name A-K  12:30pm 

 

9 year olds- last name L-Z 1: 15pm 

 

8 years and under 2pm

 

FAQ:

 
 
1. What to wear?  Comfortable baseball clothes and cleats, bring snaeakers also, we will tryout on blacktop if field is not playable.
 
2. What gear should I bring?  Bring bat, glove, helmet if you have. We have some loaner helmets and bats if necessary.
 
3. What if my player is frozen on a team?  All players, including Managers kids and returning players that are frozen on a team, must be evaluated or they will be released from current team and placed in a hat drawing for new team.
 
4. Will they warm up and stretch out before evaluations?  No,  all players are responsible to warm up on own.  There is a second field that can be used to warm up. Parents must supervise.
 
5. What will they do at this evaluation?  Each player will field 3-5 ground balls, 3-5 fly balls, and they will all get 3-5 swings off a live pitcher then run the bases. 
 
6. How long does it take?  depending on the number that kids that show up on that day, could be 30-70 minutes.  The players are excused once they have completed all of the evaluation tasks.  Evaluations start times can start late over depending on the number of kids that show up for a particular age group.  We do have another field available for additional warm ups and our snack bar will be open.

2018 USA Baseball Bat Guidelines

This is a great opportunity to purchase a new USA Baseball approved bat for 2018.  There are new bat rules for 2018 and every bat used in Little League play needs to meet the new USA Baseball requirements.  Please review the guidelines here:

MANDATORY EVALUATIONS Ages 8-13

BEFORE YOU BUY A BAT...

Little League Baseball® has adopted the USA Baseball bat standard for mandated use effective January 1, 2018. T Ball and Farm Division will be allowed to use previously approved bats due to the fact that we use low compression balls in those division and we will check bats and provide a USA approved stamp if the meets the qualifications.  Bring bats to Opening day to receive a stamp.

THIS MEANS THAT ANY BAT PURCHASED TODAY MUST HAVE THE NEW USA BASEBALL STAMP OR IT WILL NOT MEET THE NEW STANDARDS IN 2018.
